Joan Deely, consultant with ID Invasives, has 24 years of professional experience in the field of invasive plant identification, history and management planning.
As a Senior Project Manager at Land Stewardship, Inc. (formerly Polatin Ecological Services, LLC), she managed invasive plant control projects, prepared management plans and monitoring reports, and wrote Wetland Protection Act permit applications for invasive plant management projects.
Prior to joining Land Stewardship, Inc., she completed a Natural Resource Inventory of swallow-wort presence and density on the ski trails of the former Mt. Tom Ski Area in Holyoke, MA. She collected location data for the Invasive Plant Atlas of New England (IPANE) and coordinated invasive plant outreach work with the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge.
Joan has served on Conservation Commissions for over 20 years in the towns of Greenfield, Northfield and currently Leverett. Joan has a strong background in environmental consulting, invasive species management, open space management, and project planning.
A Board Member of the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, she is also a member of the Society for Ecological Restoration.
She has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Communication from Antioch University New England.
